New dress! The amount of ‘Dita’ comments I’ve had today has been ridiculous!
As a young woman working in such a strict industry when it comes to appearances, I’ve not been a stranger to people openly voicing their negative opinions about me. It used to upset me…I didn’t have a thick skin when I first began. Every hateful and rude comment drove pins through my heart. Now that I’m nearly 20 I’ve grown to realise that it is not me that has the problem. My body, face, clothes, hair etc, are not the issues, the people who think it’s fair & acceptable to comment so hatefully about them, as if I’m a different species…those are the people with the issues. There is freedom of speech, there is having personal tastes, and there is being an asshole unprovoked. I myself have personal tastes, but I don’t hatefully bash people who don’t live up to my ‘beauty expectations’. I don’t have that authority, and neither does anybody else.
